The Ultimate Thunderdome 2023
We Coach® is becoming The Center For Healing & Justice Through Sport (CHJS)!
Our mission is to make sport healing for all youth, everywhere, through training, consulting, and movement building.
Our team includes practitioners, program experts, and trainers, who are all leaders in the field of healing through sport. Our goal is to fundamentally change the way society views sport, on the individual level and as a culture. By integrating healing-centered sport more deeply into the sports world at-large, we can help heal trauma, effect lasting change in the world, and create a foundation for broader social justice. We are committed to staying rooted in the innovation that exists in community-based sports-based youth development (SBYD) and to elevate grassroots efforts to make sports equitable and healing-centered.
We offer practical, innovative, and research-based learning experiences for coaches, organizations, government agencies, and businesses. Our content expertise ranges from theory to practice, but typically falls into three main content areas: 1) Healing-Centered Sport, 2) Social-Emotional Learning through Sport, and 3) Girls in Sport. All training or speaking engagements are centered on how coaches, programs, or the sports culture can make a concerted effort to focus on healing, not harming.
We provide top-to-bottom consulting services for programs, organizations, government agencies, and businesses interested in deepening or measuring their impact. We leverage decades of experience pushing the bounds of what sport can do to help organizations reach their goals. Our consulting services include evaluation support, program and curriculum design, and organizational strategy.
We leverage our platform and expertise to push for systemic change. We work in collaboration with stakeholders nationally, inside and outside of sport, to raise awareness about the unique power sport has to heal. We support local organizing efforts, lobby and advocate for funding and policy, and build powerful narratives towards a vision where all youth sports are a place for healing, growing, and thriving, and where all kids have access.
