When Coaches Dream Big: Our Global Journey with Nike

All over the world and throughout 2024 – Through our incredible partnership with Nike, we’re reimagining what’s possible when coaches are equipped to create healing-centered spaces where every young athlete—especially girls—can discover their strength, voice, and community through sport.

From Tokyo to Chicago: Building a Movement

Over the past several months, our CHJS trainers and founder Megan Bartlett have crisscrossed the globe, training coaches and sparking conversation about the future of youth sport in Tokyo, Mexico City, Toronto, Paris, Portland, Arizona, Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago. At each stop, we’ve witnessed the same truth: when coaches understand healing-centered practices, they create spaces where every young athlete can thrive. Through the Nike Coach Summits, we provided focused, city-based trainings for local coaches. And during Nike’s Coach the Dream summits, we facilitated conversations to help shape the future of youth sport with global stakeholders, coaching experts, and media.

Let’s Chat Specifics

In Tokyo, we worked alongside sport icons Missy Franklin and Naomi Osaka to ignite the power of sport for girls. Over in Los Angeles, Scout Bassett and 350 coaches from 100 youth organizations turned individual passion into collective action. Down in Mexico City, more than 50 passionate coaches pioneered Spanish-language healing-centered content. And with Nike’s N7 community in Arizona, we’re creating culturally-responsive healing-centered sport content with Indigenous communities. As this movement grows, so does our team—we’re proud to welcome our first Canadian trainer, Micaella Riche, from the incredible group Lay-Up, expanding our impact across North America.

The Science of Connection

Our joint approach isn’t just heartfelt—it’s backed by research showing that healing-centered sport can transform not just how young people play, but how they see themselves and their world. Through Nike’s global coaching summits, we’re teaming up to put this research into practice, one coach at a time.
