Supporting Girls Through Sport at Dick’s & Nike’s It’s Her Shot Clinics

When girls play sports, the data is unequivocal: girls are both physically and mentally healthier. These aren’t just feel-good statistics – they’re hard evidence that (healing-centered) sport transform lives. That’s why we were excited to support Dick’s Sporting Goods and Nike’s multiple It’s Her Shot Clinics by equipping their remarkable coaches with girls-centered and brain-based coaching research and tools.

These weren’t your typical basketball clinics. From Phoenix to Los Angeles to NYC, CHJS trainers equipped an elite squad of female coaches, led by powerhouse Coach San Dixon, with brain-based coaching techniques. When we combine coaches’ expertise with brain science, we deepen the impact of every clinic, every practice, every game. Our focus? The three pillars that make sports healing and powerful, particularly for girls: connection, movement, and dosed stress.

Take Maya Thomas – CHJS trainer and Nike champion – who brought this vision to life at Chicago’s clinic. Maya embodies what happens when expertise meets purpose. Check this quick, inspirational clip of Maya training and repping the nothing heals like sport mission.

This partnership with Dick’s and Nike isn’t just about basketball – it’s about rewiring the future of female leadership. Watch this space in 2025 because the rise of women’s sports isn’t a trend; it’s a transformation backed by science and driven by purpose.

Many thanks to Dick’s Sporting Goods and Nike for this work.
