  • TRAINING HIGHLIGHT:

Sports-Based Youth Development Virtual Learning Course
We Coach Lead Consultant, Christine, led a two week virtual course in partnership with Homegrown Lacrosse in the St. Paul Public Schools. This course prepared high school students to be sports-based youth development coaches including creating team environments that are organized, welcoming, and healing centered.

We received some pretty great feedback from the students who went through the course, such as:

“Before this class I thought that you had to put in a lot of effort to be a good coach, but having taken the class I think that if you go into coaching caring about the kids and their experience then the rest will come naturally. Not that you don’t have to put in work, but it’s less work and more putting in love in the form of time.”

“I really enjoyed this class. I feel like I’ve learned a lot of technical information but more than that I think I’ve learned more about being a caring and understanding human being. The class has made me so excited to go and coach kids in my community.”

“This class is super dope and I am so glad that I took it. You are also a great teacher and I am extremely appreciative of your time and effort. Thank you!”

    CONSULTING HIGHLIGHT:

    Magnusson Park Hangar
Lead Consultant, Adrienne, is working with a group in Seattle to create a multi-sport, multi-use “indoor neighborhood” in an unused park hangar to provide resources and programming for the community, including hundreds of kids living in public housing at the same park. Adrienne is working specifically with the program team to develop and execute a strategic vision for programs, partnerships, and how to make sure that community voice is built into the program design of the building.

Highlights so far have included building a programs framework and working with the executive board to discuss how to build sports experiences that maximize belonging, inclusion, and equity.

WE HAVE MORE BIG THINGS COMING IN THE REST OF 2021! THANKS FOR BEING PART OF OUR AMAZING COMMUNITY!
