Prior to joining CHJS, Joe worked as a coach, mentor and facilitator in his various roles with PeacePlayers. Concurrently to his responsibilities as program manager, Joe Smith serves as the Project Director of SHIFT, a global mutual aid and continuous learning community focused on shifting perspective and power in the field of Sport for Development. Joe believes deeply in the healing power of sport, and has a particular enthusiasm for young people having the power and mic to shape their future. Joe resides in Alexandria, VA with his wife Kasey and kids Jordan and Noah.
